I have finally bought my Innocenti Detomaso Turbo, after many years of trying to convince the owner, a former Innocenti Dealer , I was able to bring home two 1985 Innocenti Detomaso Turbos, one for parts and one that I am currently restoring, a Silver and dark grey Detomaso with only 120 km in the odometer, the car was never sold , and sat in a parking lot for 16 years , were road salt and the weather attacked the upper part of the body , roof and upper part of doors, the car is like new underneath and inside were the plastic covers over the seats and carpets were still present when I bought the car, after servicing the engine, replacing all fuel hoses and filters and cleaning the gas tank, I oiled the cilinders and let it sat for a few days, then I proceeded to turn the engine, and blow all the oil from the cylinders, did a compression check and reinstalled the spark plugs, and after a couple of turns the old trusty Daihatsu three cylinder came to life after 16 years of silence, It runs smoothly and the turbo spools up nicely, after driving it around the block a few times last summer (2002) I parked the car in my newly built garage where I started dismantling the car for a total restoration job ,I have also a 1984 Innocenti Three cilindri SE non turbo that I drive in the summers until I get my turbo restored to new condition....
